Concept
Challenge 1: Give the Park visual presence from across the highway. The highway acts as a mental, as well as a physical barrier
Challenge 2: Unify the Park, with its multiple entrances, 4-mile length and stretches that appear very "unpark-like." Identify the Park and define perimeters
Challenge 3: Bike riders, soccer families and summer movie-goers, who come to the Park for only one reason, will learn about a multitude of other offerings through Park map directories and other wayfinding
Signs in the new program serveĀ as large logos. Two major sign types consist of direct-print, changeable, high pressure laminate panels housed in a stainless steel structure. TheĀ illuminated Beacon stands 15 feet high, fulfilling the Park's original master plan of highlighting major entrances.
